Who else thinks that more vehicles should have the rubber accordion instead of a flap of cheap vinyl as a shifter boot?

Looks like a toilet plunger.

I didn’t think I’d miss them, but I kinda do...

No, it’s terrible and chunky. And in my 924 it actually makes it jump out of gear, albeit rarely.

No. We don’t. It was a cheap way of making a shift boot. No leather, no stitching. It’s like, why don’t we bring back more drum brakes while we’re at it?

If you dont like the cheap vinyl than make your own. I bought a bit of scrap suede of eBay and sewed up my own boot.

I actually have some genuine leather at home because I work for an aftermarket trim company. I can get scrap leather all the time. But these rubber boots were a staple for Japanese econoboxes for two decades - 1980-2000.
Thanks!

I realized after the fact that I picked completely the wrong color. But oh well. It turned out nice IMO.

It's perfect if you had that cocoa and tan interior though
